There are many different steps and procedures that you can take to help make your eyesight better. Bad eyesight is a condition that is caused by our own unhealthy habits of ignoring the health of our eyes. The eyes are a very sensitive organ, this is also a very important part in our body and they also need just as much care just like the other organs.
A natural way to keep your eyes relaxed is through Palming. Our eyes are always in a constant movement, even while we are asleep; our eyes still keep on moving around. It may not be possible for us completely prevent the eyes from moving around because it need to be kept well lubricated. But what we can do is we can slow down the movement of our eyes and help them be relaxed.
In order for our eyes to relax, we first need to relax our mind. If our mind is always running away with our thoughts, our eyes will also keep on straining to keep up. The act of palming can help relax our mind as well as our eyes at the same time. The process is very simple and it only takes less than 20 minutes to complete, but you can also perform it longer if you want to.
Rubbing your hands together is the first step; this is to make them warm and nice. Then, gently put one palm over each eye. Just make sure that you cup your palms so that it don’t directly touch the eyes or put pressure on your eyelids. Place your elbows on a hard surface, like on a table or on your knees to make it relaxed.
Then, try to fully relax. Having your eyes closed underneath your palms, have the muscles in your whole body to begin to calm down. Begin with the top of your head and then slowly go down until you reach your toes, feel each muscle in between begin to relax. You’ll notice that the calmer you are, the darker the blackness that your eyes can see is going to be. Sometimes you may see a grayish color in the beginning, but as you calm down that gray color will turn into darker shade of black. The deeper the blackness means that your eyes are more relaxed.
You need to clear up your mind from all of your thoughts. Try to forget all the lists and things that you need to finish and just concentrate only on the darkness that you can see. If it can be a help, you can also imagine lovely things such as flowers blossoming or the ocean waves. You can try to maintain this relaxed stage for about 15 minutes.
After you open up your eyes again, you will notice that the things are more focused now. The shapes, lines and colors are sharper and your overall eyesight is much, much better.
